After No Limit Records legend C-Murder (Corey Miller), currently incarcerated, shook the hip-hop community with a new “declaration of war” track, hinting at “resurrecting the No Limit empire,” only days later, Birdman (Bryan Williams), the head of the rival Cash Money Records empire, officially launched his counter-attack.
Birdman unexpectedly dropped a new track, widely believed to be a fierce “rep” (response) aimed directly at C-Murder and the entire No Limit camp.
While the track’s title has not been widely disclosed, snippets played on Instagram Live confirmed the challenging return of the Cash Money mogul.
A Declaration of Power from ‘Stunna’
Birdman’s new track, featuring collaboration with veteran producer Mannie Fresh, carries the distinctive New Orleans brass sound but is laced with ice-cold lyrics. In stark contrast to C-Murder’s message of “resurrection,” Birdman emphasizes that Cash Money has never died.
A leaked rap verse includes the lines: “Talkin’ about resurrection, boy, we never left. Cash Money still here, yeah, ’til my last breath. You building walls, we building jets, Stunna man move different. Your empire locked down, mine keeps multiplying, listen!”
This is clearly a direct and highly symbolic response, contrasting Cash Money’s freedom of movement and continuous prosperity with C-Murder’s state of incarceration.
Context of the Continuing Feud
The tension between Cash Money and No Limit is not merely a musical rivalry but also a personal feud between Birdman and Master P, C-Murder’s older brother.
Although the recent Verzuz event was promoted as a cultural celebration, the underlying competition and historical conflicts remain intact.
C-Murder’s release of a new track from behind bars, fueled by the desire to “restore the empire,” is seen as an act of escalating the tension.
Experts suggest that Birdman could not let such a declaration pass without a response, especially since Cash Money recently faced some criticism regarding their performance strategy at the Verzuz.
Birdman’s new song is viewed as a reminder that Cash Money is not just a label but a family, a business empire that shaped Southern rap. His collaboration with Mannie Fresh also implicitly reaffirms the unity of the core Cash Money lineup, following recent internal controversies.
This new clash promises to heat up the hip-hop scene in the coming weeks, as fans eagerly await whether Master P or any other No Limit member will release the next diss track.
